Eric Deutsch

Eric Deutsch, principal with Oliver Wight, works with companies to implement and improve Integrated Business Planning processes. Eric has extensive hands-on industry experience in the global specialty chemical and biotech industries.

Prior to joining Oliver Wight, Eric held several leadership positions in supply chain, manufacturing, and distribution with Merck, KGaA (EMD Chemicals) in North America. His experience includes transformational business process improvements, ERP system implementations (including SAP), and managing teams through several mergers and major corporate restructuring. As project manager, Eric led the Integrated Business Planning (Advanced S&OP) implementation at EMD across four diverse business units simultaneously. The divisions achieved significant operational and financial performance results through IBP (see the EMD Chemicals case study at www.oliverwight-americas.com). In addition to leading the IBP implementation, Eric led supporting improvements in demand management, master scheduling, and supply chain planning, and execution.

Since joining the Oliver Wight team, Eric has worked with diverse industries including government (Department of Defense), apparel, food, furniture, sporting goods, chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotech. Eric is skilled at assessing current company practices, coaching and facilitating the design of best-practice future states, and providing “shoulder-to-shoulder” support for practitioners while implementing Integrated Business Planning, Master Scheduling, Demand Management, and Manufacturing processes.

In addition to client engagements, Eric is actively involved in ensuring that Oliver Wight stays connected to the needs of our clients and continues to provide the thought leadership that the marketplace expects from Oliver Wight. He is an active member of the Oliver Wight Board of Directors, and he teaches the publicly offered Master Scheduling Course.

Eric achieved the APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) accreditation and is a contributing author to the VICS guideline, “The Ultimate Retail Supply Chain Machine – Connecting the Consumer to the Factory”, as well as several white papers and commentaries available on www.oliverwight-americas.com. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
